So far I have my dress picked out and ordered with my first fitting for my custom bolero jacket done. I have my veil, and my shoes and just last night we ordered Jared's wedding band.
Jared has his wedding attire all ready and he also got the wedding attire for the three boys. We have pretty dresses and sandals for Sydney and Leah and some ideas for a coordinating dress for Andrea who is 13. Let's see, what else...yesterday we finalized the dinner menu...it will be:
Raspberry Lemonade
Baby Spinach Salad with Caramelized Walnuts, Pears, Gorgonzola Cheese with Strawberry-Balsamic Vinaigrette
Pineapple, Strawberry and Grape Salad Tossed with Basil
Basmatti Rice Pilaf
Green and Yellow English Bean Sautee with Onions and Red Peppers
Airline Chicken Breast Stuffed with Spinach, Mushrooms, Spanish Onions, with a Veloute Sauce
Milk Chocolate Mousse with Orange Infused Crème Anglaise
There will also be wedding cake made by a friend from my mission who is a professional baker. We had a tasting while Jared was in town this week and we chose two flavors for our three tier cake, the bottom layer will be key lime cake with a berry filling and the top two layers will be strawberry lemonade cake also with berry filling. I feel so lucky that a bunch of my vendors were willing to trade their services for my photography services, that helps out a lot.
The dinner will be held under a grape arbor on long tables with chandeliers hanging from the grape arbor. Right out of my Pinterest dreams! Because we are getting married on a Monday we were able to get great deals on things that would normally cost a lot more for a weekend wedding.
We really want our wedding to be special for our children and also a time for both of our families to really get to know each other. Both of our families have suffered with us through both of our long and painful divorces and we want them to be able to celebrate this new happy chapter together.
While Jared was in town we also met with the florist who I got to know last year because I photographed their amazing creations for the Send Out Cards catalog. I can't wait to see what they create!
Lots of things to coordinate but I think we've really got the majority of it taken care of. We will be sending out wedding announcements after we get our wedding photos back from our photographer so we can include pictures from the wedding. (Invitations will just be sent to immediate family)
We also have a home leased in Meridian, Idaho were we will be living after we get married. (Meridian is adjacent to Boise)
On Wednesday after a loooong day in mediation with the top mediator in the county, if not the state, who is a retired judge, we came to an agreement with Tyler regarding custody arrangements once I move to Idaho. Sydney and Talmage will be racking up the frequent flyer miles! I'm so glad that that negotiation is behind us. It's something I have been stressed about for a really, really long time.
Sorry about no pics on this post...I need to edit a bunch of photos for clients that I am behind on so I will have to put some photos up next time I post!
A special thanks to all those who have kept us in their prayers throughout this process, especially our mothers. A lot has happened to get us to where we are now and things are finally falling into place and Jared and I are so grateful.
Yay, Yay, YAY!!!!! Congratulations. :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. How old is Ray Harding? My grandfather served in a BYU ward bishopric and an MTC bishopric with a lawyer/judge named Ray Harding. I wonder if it's the father or the son.
ReplyDeleteRebecca,
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to get to know you and welcome you to our family! I can already tell we will be friend, because we have the same birthday. :-)
