Tangled Party

Last year the theme of Sydney and Talmage's birthday party was the movie "UP". This year we decided on "Tangled". They LOVE that movie and have the soundtrack memorized. At first blush you might think that Tangled is a 'girl' movie, but Sydney and Talmage are quick to point out that actually, there are more boys than girls in the movie. (& they would know since they have watched it SO many times.)

I took some family pictures for one of my really good friends Shauntell and she wanted to do something in return to thank me. When I suggested that her husband Russell make a cake for Sydney and Talmage's birthday party I was definitely not expecting the AMAZING masterpiece that they created. Russell is a car mechanic by day and one of his hobbies is making cakes. Not just any cakes though, super creative and fun cakes. You can check out his creations here. I especially like the piano cake & the VW Beetle cake and wow, that McDonalds cake is amazing.

The Tangled cake became the main event of the party. It was so amazing.

When it was time to blow out the candles, the excitement was hard to contain...they had been waiting all year long for this moment!

I really didn't want to cut into this masterpiece, so Shauntell did it. 

The column was made of rice crispy treats.
